Grady Needs a Home!

Where I came from/ How I came to the Shelter:

I was once a stray and I found my way to a nice and safe place where I was able to stay for a while. This nice man thought he might keep me, but then decided that he didn't really have time for me. Since I am still young and very friendly, he thought I would be happier in another home where they had more time to spend with me, so he brought me to the MS Animal Rescue League.

My Story:

I am hopeful that someone will hear my cry for help, but I don't know how they will ever hear me above all of the other yelps and meows in here. There are so many pets in cages here that I don't know if anyone will ever notice my sweet and soft expression amongst this overwhelming crowd. I pray that my saving angel will read my story on the DNH e-newsletter and drive straight to MARL, walk in the door, and say "I AM HERE TO TAKE GRADY HOME WITH ME!" This is my prayer that I whisper every night when they turn out the lights.

Amber Needs a Home!

My ideal type of home:

I am an easy going, affectionate and gentle gal who loves attention, kids and other dogs so a home that has either, or BOTH, would be great! I like to run and play outdoors but I also love to come in and enjoy being part of the family. A fence is a must. My favorite hobbies are: watching cats, sitting on the sofa and playing chase with other dogs. I am a super fast runner, so if you are a runner we would hit it off great.

Where I came from/ How I came to the Shelter:

My owners abandoned me in the parking lot of Kroger in Flowood. Not knowing where to go or what to do, I followed that tasty smell that led me right through the door to that wonderful place they call Kroger. I didn't think there was anything wrong with going in because the doors just opened right up for me as if to welcome me with open arms to all of those wonderful smells. However, as I walked through the aisles the people were looking at me very oddly, almost like I had tissue stuck to my paw, or something. Then, before I knew it Animal Control was there to nab me. Thankfully, an ARF foster parent was there and just couldn't resist my innocently wagging nub, so they took me in until I find my permanent home.

My foster family has really enjoyed my company, but I have to go to my forever home to make room here for the next needy pet. I am very grateful to them for opening their home to me. I have really enjoyed playing with the children here and the other dogs. The cats here are interesting creatures.

  • Neutered/Spayed: Yes
  • House Trained: Yes
  • Medical Information: Healthy
  • Interaction with Kids: Good
  • Interaction with Dogs: Ok

My Story:

I am a true hound, so I love to sing and sniff. Kids and women are my favorite people, but I can warm up to men if they are kind to me. I have bursts of energy and love to be outside, but I also like to come in and spend time with the family. I would be fine in a small yard, but I'll need a fence to keep me safe. I love car rides and walking on a leash, but my FAVORITE game is hide and seek. You hide a cookie in a small box and let me figure out how to open it. Oh what fun that is for both of us! All your friends would think you had the SMARTEST dog on the block! I am house trained and I will shake on command, which are all wonderful things but you will really enjoy watching me melt on the floor when you scratch or rub in front of my ears. Oooo, so nice! I like to keep my territory safe, so if someone comes to the door, they will know that you are being protected by a Beagle-Monitoring-System because I will bark and bark until you either tell me it's ok and let them or they just give up and go away. I prefer to be the only dog, but I can get along with other dogs as long as they understand that I may be a little bossy on occasion.

I am a great dog, with a lot of wonderful things about my personality, I just hope someone realizes it and gives me a good home.

Where I came from/ How I came to the Shelter:

I was found running down a busy road and luckily I was scooped up just before I met my ultimate fate.

My Story:

I don't need much out of life, but I sure would like to be loved just once. I hear stories of how wonderful a caring family is. You know, the kind that you sit and wait for each time they leave the house, then wag, wag, wag just to let them know how much you missed them each time they come back home. I hope to have someone who will make sure that I am happy and safe the rest of my life.
