Where I came from/ How I came to the Shelter:

I was found running alongside Highway 51 in Madison, dangerously close to the highway. Thankfully, a saving angel stopped to pick me up because they were sure I would be hit by a car. They brought me to the Madison Ark where I await my new and loving home.

Mustang Sally needs a home!

My Story:

I am a beautiful girl who is very well mannered and sweet. I get along well with everyone~ other dogs and children included, I even like CATS! I spent some time in a foster home when I was first picked up, so they could determine my temperament, and it was found that I am a WONDERFUL four-legged friend! I walk well on a leash and would make a great exercising companion, but I also love to ride in the car where I can feel the breeze in my floppy ears. I am still very young and heartworm negative.

If you think I sound like a wonderful pet, it's because I AM! For more information about me, please contact my friends at the Madison Ark and they will tell you all about me.

Lucy needs a home!

Meet Lucy

Where dog is located now: The Madison Ark
Name: Lucy
Age: Less Than 1 Year Old
Sex: Female
Breed: Bluetick Coonhound/Beagle Mix
Color: Tri-Colored
Size: Medium
Neutered/Spayed: Spayed
House Trained: Yes
Medical Information: Very healthy & UTD on Shots
Interaction with Kids: Great
Interaction with Dogs: Great
Interaction with Cats: OK
Ideal type of Home: I will make a great pal to just about anyone. I am great with kids and other dogs, however I will need a very secure fence (like a wood fence) because I tend to climb and get out.

Where I came from/ How I came to the Shelter:

I was picked up by Animal Control in Madison and my owner surrendered me because they were not able to keep me in the fence and they couldn't afford to pay the fines. So, I lost my wonderful home.

Lucy needs a home!

My Story:

I am very friendly and outgoing and I love to play and run, especially with kids! I think a wood fence would keep me in nice and safe, but since I am such a wonderfully sweet girl I am hopeful to be able to come indoors and spend some good ole' family time too. I am a very loyal girl and will make someone very happy and proud to have such a nice friend. True to my instinct, I keep my nose to the ground as if following the scent of something. . . right now I am tracking a new home and I hope that it's YOU!

Daisy Mae needs a home!

Meet Daisy Mae

Where cat is located now: The Madison Ark
Name: Daisy Mae
Age: 1-2 years
Sex: Female
Breed: Calico/Torte
Color: Calico/Torte
Size: Medium
Neutered/Spayed: Spayed
Litter Box Trained: Yes
Medical Information: Very healthy & UTD on Shots
Interaction with Kids: Great
Interaction with Dogs: Unknown
Interaction with Cats: Great
Ideal type of Home: I need to be a primarily indoor kitty, but I would make a great friend to any single person or family.

Where I came from/ How I came to the Shelter:

I have been here a long time now and I think it should be my turn at a wonderful family life. I hear that it is so nice to have someone dote on you endlessly, and oh how I would love to curl up at your feet at night and keep you company. I love kids too, so I would gladly share a bed with one or just curl up in a nice quiet spot to myself; I am not very picky. You see, about 8 months ago I was found in the engine of a car. Luckily, the owner of the car found me before I was killed in there. They brought me to the Madison Ark in hopes that I would find a permanent and SAFER home.

My Story:

Even though I have been here a long time, I am a very social and sweet girl, I love people and other cats. In fact, every time someone visits the cat building at the Ark I can hardly wait for them to sit down so I can jump in their lap and get a good scratch on the cheeks. I am very laid back and just take life as it comes at me. . . I am hopeful that someone will come for me one day and take me to a nice new home.

Buddy needs a home!

Meet Buddy

  • Where dog is located now: ARF
  • Name: Buddy
  • Age: 3 years
  • Sex: Male
  • Breed: Cattle dog mix
  • Color: Golden
  • Size: Medium
  • Neutered/Spayed: Yes
  • House Trained: No
  • Medical Information: Healthy
  • Interaction with Kids: Good
  • Interaction with Dogs: Good
  • Interaction with Cats: Good
  • Ideal type of home: I will do best with a new friend that is active and will include me in those activities, like walking, hiking, farming, horseback riding, etc. I am a cattle dog and I am happiest when I have a job to do, rather than just sitting on the couch or waiting in the backyard for you to come home.

Where I came from/ How I came to the Shelter:

My owner did the right thing and brought me to ARF, rather than just dumping me someplace, when they could no longer keep me.

My Story:

When I first came to the ARF farm, as an owner surrender, I had some anxiety and fear issues that, with consistent love and patience, I have already overcome. I will now make a great pet for someone who wants to open their heart to me. I love walks and a good backyard game of fetch the Kong!

Peanut needs a home!

Meet Peanut

  • Where dog is located now: ARF
  • Name: Peanut
  • Age: 1-2 years
  • Sex: Male
  • Breed: Hound mix
  • Color: Copper
  • Size: Medium
  • Neutered/Spayed: Yes
  • House Trained: No
  • Medical Information: Healthy
  • Interaction with Kids: Great
  • Interaction with Dogs: Great
  • Interaction with Cats: Good
  • Ideal type of home: I will make a great backyard-buddy and playmate for your kids or sounding- system to keep you safe from trespassers.

My Story:

I am very outgoing and friendly, I love long walks and playing with kids. When you give me a quick glance, there is really nothing that particularly stands out about me. I am not small, cute and fluffy and I am not a popular breed of stardom from the big screen; I am just a regular good ole' dog that needs a home. Many people may pass by me because I am not one of these more popular types of dogs, but they would really be missing out on how special I am as an individual. I am just as loving, just as loyal and just good as any of those other more desirable breeds. All I need is someone to open their heart and home to me and give me a chance. I promise to love you forever.
