Where I came from/ How I came to the Shelter:

I was born at the shelter on Christmas Day in 2008.

My Story:

I am a Labrador/ Bird-dog mix so guess what?!?. . . . I LOVE WATER!!! I have loads of energy so I can keep up with almost any activity that you can throw at me. I would be a great running (track or cross country) or hiking mate to keep you company. In fact, my best friend at the shelter is a volunteer who takes me running and even lets me run down to the pond and splash around a bit. So if you are an active person who loves to do 5k events, I would appreciate the opportunity to join you and your family.

Where I came from/ How I came to the Shelter:

I was rescued from the streets of Carthage MS by a group of nuns in the area. However, some "thug kids" were harassing the older nuns and actually threatening them if they didn't give them money. One Sister reported them to law enforcement and they were arrested. However, the "thug kids" claimed that they would get revenge by killing the dogs that were being cared for by nuns at the convent. So, ARF swooped in and rescued me, and the other dogs that the Sisters were taking care of.

My Story:

I am super friendly and energetic. I love kids and hope to have the opportunity to be a child's best friend. God saved me from the streets, ARF saved me from maliciousness, won't you save me from a life in a shelter?

Where I came from/ How I came to the Shelter:

My story begins on the streets of Rankin County, then to Craig's List and then off to a wonderful place in a little girl's heart. I have a very special story~ keep reading. .

Cato needs a home!

My Story:

Someone was kind enough to pick me up off of the side of the road in Rankin County, where I was hungry and terrified! However, once they rescued me they realized that they couldn't keep me so they listed me on Craig's List claiming that if no one adopted me they would take me to a shelter where I would be euthanized. Ugh! Well, suddenly I wasn't any better off than I was on the streets.

That was the day that I met my saving angel! Would you believe it. . . a beautiful LITTLE GIRL saw my story and had her grandmother bring her to get me. She knew that she couldn't keep me but her heart broke when she read my story on Craig's List. She took me immediately to the vet and used her own money to get my shots and have me de-wormed; she gave me plenty of food and toys, I have never felt better in my short little life. I didn't know that I was so special, but she has done a wonderful job at making me feel that way.

I hope you will think I am as special as my new little friend and take me to the last place I can call home.
