Meet Max
Where I came from/ How I came to the Shelter:I was a resident in a high-kill shelter in Louisiana until a few months ago. At the LA shelter I was on the "to-die-soon” list and I was pretty anxious about it because I have always tried to be a good dog and I just didn’t understand how I ended up there. To make things worse, this shelter doesn’t use the more commonly used, and humane type of euthanasia, they kill their unwanted pets in a GAS CHAMBER! Oh my! When I found out I was on the list I knew I had to draw the attention of someone to rescue me from there. That’s when ARF swooped in an got me out just in time, but there are still so many others that have met their destiny in that horrid place. My Story:The ARF photographer couldn’t believe that she hadn’t met me before now but she was simply blown away at what a sweet dog I am. She is confident that anyone who comes to meet me will certainly want to take me home right away. Oh, I hope she is right. My life has been lived from one uncertainty to another and I hope my journey will end soon at a wonderfully loving home with the kind people that I can call family. Note from ARF: "Clearly, we believe all of our dogs would be a good fit in almost any home, but trust me when we say that Max is worth your trip to the shelter. He is extremely affectionate, wonderful with both adults and children, has zero problems on a leash and is extremely photogenic to boot. Please help this dog get the loving home he deserves! ARF saved him from a cloud of death. . . YOU can save him from living a life in a shelter. For more photos of Max, you can find his album on the Dogs Need Homes and ARF Facebook pages.” Contact for Questions about Adoption:

My Story:I am a little shy when I first meet someone new, but it only takes a few minutes for me to become your best friend. I am very energetic and loving and I would make a great pet for a child who needs a furry best friend. Come meet me today! Contact for Questions about Adoption:

Where I came from/ How I came to the Shelter:I was removed from the city animal control facility along the Mississippi River by Paws Rescue during the historic flooding of 2011. My Story:I had found myself homeless and ended up at the area city animal control facility. My chances for a long, happy life weren't good there to begin with and then flooding began. Unfortunately the pound was severely flooded so we were picked up by Paws Rescue. I am a very sweet girl, but a little shy when I first meet someone. I will need a home with a patient person to help urge me to become more comfortable with my new surroundings. However, once I get settled in I am the biggest love you would ever want to meet. If you would like to adopt me, please contact my friends at Paws Rescue and they can help. Contact for Questions about Adoption:

Where I came from/ How I came to the Shelter:Mississippi's Great Flood of 2011 My Story:I am super happy to meet everyone and I have so much personality in my little body that you just can't help but love me. I was one of the many dogs rescued from the city pound right before it flooded from the MS River. I am very thankful for the people who got me out of their just in the nick of time, but I am still searching for my new home where I can be loved, safe and happy all at the same time. If you would like to get to know me better just contact my friends and they can tell you how all of the adoption process works. Contact for Questions about Adoption:

Where I came from/ How I came to the Shelter:My owners are moving and had to give me up. My Story:I am a great dog, playful and smart. I already know how to sit and shake and I am also crate trained and house trained. I will make a great companion and I hope that someone will see how beautiful I am and how smart I am and give me a good home. Contact for Questions about Adoption:
