Remi needs a home!

Meet Remi

  • Where animal is located now: Living with family at the Rez
  • Name: Remi
  • Age: Three
  • Sex: Female
  • Breed: Great Dane
  • Color: Brindle-Harlequin
  • Size: Large
  • Neutered/Spayed: Yes
  • House Trained: Yes
  • Medical Information: Healthy, No issues whatsoever
  • Interaction with Kids: Wonderful
  • Interaction with Dogs: Great, but likes to chase smaller ones
  • Interaction with Cats: Chases cats…but only for fun
  • Ideal type of home: I would be happiest in a home with no cats ... only because they tend to rile me up and make me chase them…since I'm so big, I tend not to watch out for things like large plants, lamps, and other things on the floor as I chase those crazy cats around. Don't get me wrong, I get along with cats fine, they are just so much fun to chase. The same for small dogs like Chihuahuas…my best animal buddies are medium to large dogs…but I admit, I'm a sucker for attention. I crave my owner's full attention and I return the love with Dane kisses and tail wags. I might be considered too hyper for young toddlers, too. I don't have a mean bone in my body, but I am told sometimes I don't know my own strength. A nice yard with a fence is a must, but really I am a house dog, like most Great Danes.

Where I came from/ How I came to the Shelter:

I was taken in by a family here at the Rez when my original owners moved to Key West and into a small apartment. Not the best place for an active girl like me! I have all my shots, my rabies tag is good for another two years, and I am a registered and pedigreed beauty…if I do say so myself! I love to romp and play, but I also know when my master says "go lie down in your bed" you usually don't have to ask me twice. I have good manners and love walks…but I also love attention and love to sneak up on the sofa and curl up to sleep. I do sleep in my master's bedroom at night on my very own baby mattress. Car rides…MY FAVORITE! I don't have to be coaxed or asked-twice to jump into the car for a nice ride. I love going to PetSmart; I'm like a kid in the candy store there! I have a very unique color combination, and I'm considered quite the beauty queen among my peers. And my eyes are captivating. Just look into them sometime and you'll see! My current mom was diagnosed with something called MS, and she can't really keep up with me any more...it's still hard for me to understand that I can't be as active around her as I used to be. My temporary daddy is Big Steve Kelly at MISS 103. Call him at 601-946-9973 or 601-982-1062 and maybe you can come see me and meet for a little play time!

Toby needs a home!

Meet Toby

  • Where animal is located now: ARF
  • Name: Toby
  • Age: 1 year
  • Sex: Male
  • Breed: Boxer/ Great Dane Mix
  • Color: Black & Gray
  • Size: Large
  • Neutered/Spayed: Yes
  • House Trained: No
  • Medical Information: Healthy
  • Interaction with Kids: Great
  • Interaction with Dogs: Good
  • Interaction with Cats: Unknown
  • Ideal type of home: I hope to be best friend to a runner or someone who will let me get out and exercise because I love to run! I would also be best suited for an experienced dog owner who knows a little about how to teach a dog to be obedient. I am very smart and eager to learn.

Where I came from/ How I came to the Shelter:

I was found running down Interstate 20, malnourished and scared. Now I have fattened up, I'm healthy and a dream of a dog.

My Story:

Toby is a very active dog who will need an experienced dog owner and good obedience. He is full of puppy play and loves to jump up and box with you. Toby has so much personality. Adopt Toby today…or come to the shelter this weekend and give him a nice long walk.
