Where I came from/ How I came to the Shelter:

I was brought into the shelter, along with my brothers and sisters, when I was just a puppy. It was a wonderful day when a family came and chose me to be their new best friend. My life with them started off great, but then they started spending less, and less time with me. I was so sad because I loved to be with them, especially when they would rub my belly or take me for a walk. I guess they decided that their lives were just too hectic to keep me, so they brought me back to the shelter.

My Story:

I'm not complaining about being back at the shelter because they feed me well and I am cared for, but there is nothing like the love of a family and your own owner. Now, I am hopeful that someone will hear my story and know that I am the right friend for them. I have a great personality and I really want to please my owners. I love to go for walks and spend time with people. Since my former family kept me outdoors, the shelter isn't sure if I am house trained but all of my brothers and sisters that were adopted are, so I'm sure I'll catch on quickly.

Sam needs a home!

Meet Sam

  • Where animal is located now: ARF
  • Name: Sam
  • Age: 1 Year
  • Sex: Male
  • Breed: Good ole' Heinz 57
  • Color: Black & Tan
  • Size: Large
  • Neutered/Spayed: Yes
  • House Trained: No
  • Medical Information: Healthy
  • Interaction with Kids: Great
  • Interaction with Dogs: Great
  • Interaction with Cats: Unknown
  • Ideal type of home: My ideal family would be with slightly active folks looking for a running partner or company for the back yard. I'm not hyper, but I am a young boy and still need some space to run a little.

Where I came from/ How I came to the Shelter:

I came to the shelter as a tiny puppy with my siblings and my mother Harriet, who is a small Basset Hound mix. My mom is a local celebrity that has been previously listed on DNH.

My Story:

Everyone thought that we pups were going to grow up to be small dogs because our mom is small. Boy were they wrong about me! I am a nice big boy weighing in at 75 pounds, and twice as tall as my mom. In spite of my size, I am a gentle dog that loves to cuddle. For such a young dog, I even walk very well on a leash. Now that I have told you all of these wonderful things about me, how can you just let me live my life at a shelter, never knowing the true love of my own family? If you think you would like to be my new best friend, please call my friends at the shelter. There are no strings attached if you just stop by to say hi to me. I love attention and would a rub behind the ears.

Willow needs a home!

Meet Willow

  • Where animal is located now: Jackson Friends of Animal Shelter at Flowood Petsmart Adoption Center
  • Name: Willow
  • Age: 6 Months
  • Sex: Female
  • Breed: Domestic Shorthair
  • Color: Tortoiseshell
  • Size: Small
  • Neutered/Spayed: Yes
  • House Trained: Yes
  • Medical Information: Spayed, dewormed and UTD on shots
  • Interaction with Kids: Great
  • Interaction with Dogs: Unknown
  • Interaction with Cats: Great, I love other kitties!
  • Ideal type of home: I am an active kitten that loves children! I even play well with other kitties and would get along fine with dogs too after a proper introduction.

Where I came from/ How I came to the Shelter:

I was removed from the Jackson Pound by Jackson Friends of the Animal Shelter and placed in a foster home with other kittens and cats. Then, the nice people at Petsmart let me come here to be adopted.

My Story:

When I first came to the Adoption Center I was shy and stayed in my condo. But my cage was full of these wonderful toys that I had never seen before, so one by one, I would creep out and bring them back in. When they would clean my cage they would find my bed full of toys! My cage-mates were two silly boys that loved to play all the time. They got a little miffed at me at first for always stealing all of the toys, but they have helped me to come out of my "shell" a little and with their help I have learned that there is nothing to be afraid of. Now we share our toys and wrestle all the time; I have become quite the tomboy! I love the balls and feathers, but my absolute favorite thing is a paper bag, and preferably with another kitty inside! I play so loudly that people all over the store can hear me rattling around. I love little people, especially when they play with me. If you would like to give me a new forever home, please call my friend Dell Zubkowski, her number is listed below.

Zola needs a home!

Meet Zola

  • Where animal is located now: Jackson Friends of the Animal Shelter at Flowood Petsmart Adoption Center
  • Name: Zola
  • Age: 10 Months
  • Sex: Female
  • Breed: Domestic Shorthair
  • Color: Snowshoe
  • Size: Small
  • Neutered/Spayed: Yes
  • House Trained: Yes
  • Medical Information: Healthy, UTD on shots and wormed
  • Interaction with Kids: Unknown
  • Interaction with Dogs: Unknown
  • Interaction with Cats: Unknown
  • Ideal type of home: I am a nice, quiet girl and would prefer to be an indoor kitty in a home without a lot of noise. I would be perfect for a single person, older people or just plain ole' couch potatoes because I don't like a lot of fuss. I have never really been around other kitties or dogs, so I'm not sure what to think of them.

Where I came from/ How I came to the Shelter:

I was removed from the Jackson Pound by Jackson Friends of the Animal Shelter when I was around 8 months old.

My Story:

I have been in a foster home by myself and have gotten quite used to having fluffy soft cat bed and a covered litter box. In fact, I am a beautiful and regal gal who expects a certain amount of attention each day. I'll let you know when you aren't keeping up with my expectations by sounding a little purr or giving you a gentle head butt as a kind reminder to get back to your duties of petting me. If you don't believe me, just stop by the Petsmart in Flowood, MS, and see it first hand. Contact Dell Zubkowski below if you're interested in finding out more about me.
