Where I came from/ How I came to the Shelter:

My parents are getting divorced and they have decided that neither of them want me so they brought me to the Madison Ark in hopes that I will find a new forever home where I can grow up and grow old.

My Story:

Like most puppies, I am a very sweet and happy girl. I get along great with everyone and the folks here at the shelter say that I am a real joy to be around. I sure hope that I am not one of those sweet little puppies that stays in the selter too long because I will grow to be a big girl, and then no one will want to adopt me.

Betsy needs a home!

Meet Betsy

  • Where animal is located now: The Madison Ark
  • Name: Betsy
  • Age: 5 Years
  • Sex: Female
  • Breed: Domestic Short Hair
  • Color: Tabby & White
  • Size: Large
  • Neutered/Spayed: Yes
  • House Trained: Yes
  • Medical Information: Healthy
  • Interaction with Kids: Great
  • Interaction with Dogs: Great
  • Interaction with Cats: Great
  • Ideal type of home: I am such an easy going gal that I can be happy just about anywhere I am loved. I would be happy in a home with children and other pets, but I could also be content with a single person. In fact, I would also love to keep the lap warm of an elderly person.

Where I came from/ How I came to the Shelter:

I had a mom and she treated me, and my brother Boomer, like her children. We were spoiled rotten and we loved her all the more for it. She died a while ago and there was no one to keep us, so we were brought to the shelter. Boomer has already been adopted, but I am sure that I am next because I am a wonderful house-kitty.

My Story:

I miss my mom and brother so much, but you would not really know it because I am a sweet and laid back gal who just takes what life throws at me. I am sure that I will be happy where ever I am as long as I am allowed to be primarily indoors and I get lots of love and attention. In fact, I am actually just a big ole' lap kitty! If you are looking for a nice, calm and loving kitty that loves every body (children, dogs and other cats included), than I am just the girl for you!

Puppies needs a home!

Meet Puppies

  • Where animal is located now: ARF
  • Name: Puppies
  • Age: 3 Months
  • Breed: Hound mixes
  • Color: All colors
  • Size: We will be medium to large size
  • Neutered/Spayed: No
  • House Trained: No
  • Medical Information: Healthy
  • Interaction with Kids: Great
  • Interaction with Dogs: Great
  • Interaction with Cats: Great
  • Ideal type of home: Our ideal homes would be with people that will love us, give us lots of attention, teach us good-dog manners and allow each of us to be a part of the family.

Where I came from/ How I came to the Shelter:

We came to the shelter with our mom, who is a hound mix. Our mom has been so wonderful to take good care of us, but now it is time for us to find our own homes. Mom also needs a home, if you are looking for a loving adult companion.

My Story:

Wooo woooo wooo. . . arrrrr-rufff. . . . grrrrrr. . . . Hey, get off my ear! No, you move. . . Wait, I want to be in the picture too! Oh, you should hear the ruckus when we all get together. We love to play with each other and as fun as these times are, we know that it is ever so important for us to find our own homes right now while we are young and adorable. Thanksgiving and Christmas is a great time to introduce a new pet because the kids will be out of school and you will have a little more time to spend with us. So, what do ya say? Come one down and just pick one (or two, if you want), we all need a loving home before the holidays because Santa won't be able to resist our puppy breath!

Toby needs a home!

Meet Toby

  • Where animal is located now: Petsmart Adoption Center, Flowood, MS
  • Name: Toby
  • Age: 5 Months
  • Sex: Male
  • Breed: Domestic Shorthair
  • Color: Brown Tabby
  • Size: Medium
  • Neutered/Spayed: Yes
  • House Trained: Yes
  • Medical Information: Up to date on shots, wormed, flea treatment
  • Interaction with Kids: great with kids but prefer them not to be too little or too rowdy
  • Interaction with Dogs: Unknown
  • Interaction with Cats: Great
  • Ideal type of home: My ideal home would include nice people who will give me lots of love, a soft bed, and a kitty condo or cat tree. I am not aggressive at all but don't really like it when little kids pull on me.

Where I came from/ How I came to the Shelter:

I was moved from Jackson Animal Control to a wonderful foster home when I was a little kitten with lots of other kittens and cats. When I got big enough to be neutered I came to Flowood Petsmart Adoption Center where I live in the display cage.

My Story:

When I was in my foster home I learned good-kitty manners, like how to use the litter box and how to play with other kittens, and be handled by humans. I love to romp and play but if another kitten gets too rough with me, I do not fuss at him. I simply walk away until he settles down. I am quite a little diplomat. Peace must prevail in my cage since I share it with a rowdy boy and a sweet girl kitty. My little tabby friend, Salena, was adopted by a nice man last night and went to her forever home with lots of toys and a lap to sit on. It kind of hurt my feelings because we were best buddies and liked to play together but I understand the perfect human will come along for me soon. I am quite striking with marking like a jungle cat and I have beautiful big gold eyes. If you would like more information, please call the human from Jackson Friends who plays with me. Her name is Dell Zubkowski.

October needs a home!

Meet October

  • Where animal is located now: Flowood Petsmart Adoption Center
  • Name: October
  • Age: 5 Months
  • Sex: Male
  • Breed: Domestic Shorthair
  • Color: Orange Tabby
  • Size: Medium
  • Neutered/Spayed: Yes
  • House Trained: Yes
  • Medical Information: UTD on shots, Wormed & on flea treatment
  • Interaction with Kids: Fantastic
  • Interaction with Dogs: Unknown
  • Interaction with Cats: Great
  • Ideal type of home: I would love a home with people who will play with me and give me toys and attention. I really like playing with other kitties. I don't even mind when little people carry me around as along as they are gentle.

Where I came from/ How I came to the Shelter:

I was at the Jackson Pound for a little while when I was real little but Jackson Friends of the Animal Shelter moved me into a foster home with a nice lady and other kitties. Then they took me to the vet and I came out feeling all woozy. They kept saying that they "fixed me", but I didn't know anything was wrong with me. :-) A little while later I moved into this nice cage at Petsmart with my foster home friends.

My Story:

I am a very personable fellow. Never met another cat or person I did not like. I love running and playing in a paper bag, it is really fun when one of my playmates goes into the bag and then I pounce on top! My best friend Marc was adopted last week so I am making new friends at the Adoption Center. I am a handsome soft orange tabby but you can barely see my stripes and I have beautiful green eyes. I am so gentle that people love to hold me. The other day two little kids toted me all over the adoption area and hugged me lots. I didn't mind because I understand kittens have to be nice so they can go to a real home. Please come by and see me! You can call the Jackson Friends lady who plays with me
