Meet Riley
Where I came from/ How I came to the Shelter:I didn't know where to go and I was beginning to get pretty hungry so I found a nice lady's house in Philadelphia, MS. She already had several pets, so I knew this would be a pretty nice place to rest my head for a bit. She tried to find my home, but was unsuccessful, so she took me to the vet for tests and to get my shots, de-worming and flea prevention treatment. My Story:The nice lady in Philadelphia couldn't keep me anymore because she already has several pets and didn't feel that she could give me the appropriate amount of time. So, I am staying with another really nice lady in a townhouse in Brandon right now, but the problem is that I am a big puppy and I like to do puppy stuff and a townhouse just isn't suitable. If you think you can give me a warm, loving home with a nice backyard to run around, please come visit me. I'm sure we will hit it off very well! I am already packaged for Christmas and ready to go! Meet Misha
Where I came from/ How I came to the Shelter:I was removed from the Jackson Pound by Jackson Friends of the Animal Shelter and placed in a foster home. Then the nice people at Petsmart let me come here to be adopted. My Story:I don't remember the early days of my kittenhood, but I do remember being in a foster home with a very nice lady and other kitties to play with. The foster mom loved to pet me and let me snuggle with her. I like to play with other kittens and with all sorts of toys. I know being put in this cage is part of the process but it really cramps my style. The Petsmart people are nice and so are the volunteers who come to play with me and clean my cage. But when they are not looking, I stick my tongue out at them. Hee hee. Don't tell on me, please. They all think I am a dignified, reserved kitten and I don't want to spoil my image. I am in the top right cage in the Adoption Center at Flowood Pertsmart. Come see me and I promise not to make faces behind your back. Meet Cain
Where I came from/ How I came to the Shelter:I was left abandoned in a rental house when my family was evicted. They didn't even leave me any food or water. When the owner of the property found me inside I was starving and weak. The kind man carried me to the vet and found me a temporary foster home. My Story:I am a super friendly dog that loves to play other dogs and kids, and I am even great with cats! I am pretty well mannered and gentle. I am still young, at only 9-10 months. After my terrible experience with my last family I sure hope my next one will remember that I am a living being with a heart and feelings too. Contact for Questions about Adoption:

Meet Bogie
Where I came from/ How I came to the Shelter:I had a home but my owner was a bit of a Grinch! He didn't mind me hanging around but he would get infuriated when he would walk out onto the porch and find me curled up in his favorite chair. I don't know why this was such as issue because it was my favorite chair too. I didn't MEOOOWWWW at him and try to scratch him when I would come onto the porch and find him sitting in MY favorite chair! I just didn't know why we couldn't sit in our favorite chair together? Rather than working this out in an amicable way, the grumpy old man just called Animal Control to come get me. My Story:Now, here I am in the cat building at the Madison Ark. At least I have made some great friends here; and my best buddy in the cat building, Chevy, and I love to romp and play. I am a very laid back and loving kitty so I think I would make a great lap kitty and companion for just about anyone willing to share their favorite chair with me. Meet Taz
My Story:My brindle coat is thick and soft, just like a teddy bear. I have always enjoyed running and playing, but lately there is more of me than there used to be. As it turns out, I love eating as much as I love running and I have put on a little weight. I would love for a volunteer to come and get me out of my pen and take me for a walk because I sure could use a little exercise. I get along well with most other dogs, but I draw the line with aggressive males. I love the ladies though. I am an alpha dog, which is not a bad thing, I just like to be at the top of the pack. Meet Molly
Where I came from/ How I came to the Shelter:My mom was picked up off of the streets of Belhaven when she was pregnant, and then I was born in the shelter on November 28, 2008. My Story:I have never known the love of my own people and it depresses my little heart to think of growing old in a shelter and never being a part of a family. I would be a fun dog to have around because I love playing in the water and go for runs (or walks) on a leash. I snuggle with anyone that will give me half a chance and I like to give kisses. I will be a great family dog at only 30- 40 pounds, I am the perfect size! Contact for Questions about Adoption:
